Hey friends! I have been wanting to figure out a very simple, laid back way to dig into all of the beautiful Illustrated Faith devotionals that I’ve been loving for a couple of years now. I decided to do what I have seen a few people on the IF creative team do, and that’s take a Midori Dot Grid Journal and just fill it up as I feel called to. I always keep my projects super simple because I feel like once you stress about it or put all of this pressure on yourself to make it look a certain way or get done by a certain time – the joy gets zapped out of it and well, I don’t want that – especially when it’s about God’s Word and digging into it a bit more.

I have a bit of a backlog of devotionals that I’ve purchased that I love, but haven’t created anything with just yet. So, I’m taking it slow and just started with the newest one that I have, The Compassion Cure, which is the January devotional, and have done a few other pages here and there from devotionals from last year.
I love how this notebook feels unrestricted – almost like anything goes – and so I even cut some things out of the devotional booklet itself to use and I loved it. I’m really trying NOT to hold onto so many things and so after working through the devotional, I knew it was ok to cut it up and move on and so I did.

I loved that I finally used my mega date stamp that I picked up at Target a couple months ago. I always wanted one and finally got one! Ha!
I used a bit of the packaging from the kit to create this pocket and then added the flower on the top (I cut it out from the devotional). I stamped a simple tag and included a prayer on it.

I think I’m really going to enjoy pulling out this notebook and adding to it throughout the year. It’s a good way to get some extra time in God’s Word and use up some of my supplies, too. I will definitely share more of this notebook as the days go on, but I’m happy to share where it’s starting and I can’t wait to see where it goes and what a blessing it’ll be.

XO.
LOVE this Kristina! I do something similar in a journal where I just write stuff to God. Might have to start a separate journal like this though because like you, have a backlog of IF stuff!!
Thank you, friend! So cool that you do something similar! It’s just fun to have a notebook to write down prayers, add bits + pieces to and just keep it simple and laid back. Yep! Start a new journal just for all of the IF backlog! Ha! We can do it together! LOL!
