One of the things that I love to include in my Project Life album are letters. Whether you’re writing a letter to someone, to yourself or even to “something” like I did here – I wrote my letter to Type 1 Diabetes – letters are a great way to share more of the story, dig deeper and get more words into your album.
I wrote this letter to diabetes on the 10th anniversary of my daughter’s diagnosis last year. It honestly was therapeutic to me and I love how it shows exactly what my heart was feeling on that day.
Letters can say so much and I think they’re a great addition to your documenting. Here are some other ideas for letters you can write:
- A letter to a child on their birthday every year
- A letter to yourself when you are going through a major life change/struggle
- A letter to your spouse when it’s your anniversary or a special time
- A letter to an inanimate object that means something to you – tells a story or you have something to say about it/to it
- A letter to pet that you love
- A letter to the year (at the end of it or the beginning of it)
- A letter to a family member/friend
There are SO many ways that you can incorporate a letter into your Project Life album. You can even put old letters that you have in a page protector or a plastic envelope and keep them safe in your albums.
I hope this has encouraged you and inspired you to think about the letters that you could write and/or include in your albums. I know it’ll be something that you’ll love to look back on one day.
I really want letters to make a comeback.
XO.
