Hey friends! I wanted to share this album that I started last year and have been working in recently – adding more photographs and some stories, too. I’m calling it my “all about me” album because it’s just that – an album all about ME. Ha! I thought it would be a fun project to work on here and there throughout the year. I also thought it would be something cool that my kids and my future generations could look back on.
I got a 9×12 album in one of my favorite colors (happy blue!) and am using the 9×12 page protectors in a few various styles a well. I have a lot of photos from my childhood that I scanned way back in the day and so I started from the beginning with what I had. I loved the idea of printing them out and actually have a “home” for them so that I can save what I have and also tell stories and share more about MY life in the album.
There are stories and photos of me in our family albums that I do annually, but this one is solely dedicated to me and it’s been fun to add to.
I didn’t want there to be a tons of work to do to put this album together. I wanted it to be organic, but also easy to add to stories to and so the way that I decided to document stories in this album, was to just share memories of myself and that I remembered by looking at the photographs.
To do this, I simply started to tell the stories on an 8×10 piece of cardstock. I could have easily taken journaling cards and written or typed out the stories, but I didn’t want this to be an album where SO much stuff were added – like journaling cards, filler cards, tons of embellishments, etc. I just want it to be a smidge more than a photo album.
Photos + simple memories.
That’s good enough for me. Simple is good.
You could do this album yourself in so many different ways – it’s really just about what photographs you have, what you want to include, how much time you want to invest in it and what you want to get out of it in the end.
I do have a little package full of papers and things from when I was little that my parents gave to me. I plan on putting some of those in there – maybe in a plastic envelope or just a page protector. I’ll keep you posted on what I decide to do about that and promise to share more as I continue to work on this album and add to it. Right now, I’m just glad to have started it.
I hope sharing my simple All About Me album has inspired you to think about ways that you can tell YOUR story so that you are sure that you are getting to share bits of you through the years for future generations to know.
It matters.

Love this, Kristina! What a great way to pull together all those self-pics into one space. What a total treasure for your family. I have many, many photos of my mom, and something like this would be fun to do and so valuable to our family. Thank you! Really loving your newsletter and blog.
