What I’m currently working on
I thought I’d share a bit of an update on my Project Life album for this year and how it’s shaping up. I’m not the kind of person that really cares if I’m “caught up” because honestly – will we EVER be caught up if we’re living life and enjoying it FIRST before we take the photographs and put them in our albums? I never want to get so wrapped up in where I’m at in my documenting that it stresses me out and I lose the joy of it. After all, the JOY in memory keeping is one of the things I love the most!
So this is a look at just what things I’ve been including so far in my album, where I’m at in my album and some tips for you when it comes to documenting and creating a Project Life album throughout the year.
In my annual Project Life album this is the second year that I’m doing 11 on 11. It’s been wonderful. If you want to read more about what that is exactly, check it out HERE.
I’ve been sure to include smaller stories about things – like this random story about my most favorite wallet ever that I recently had to replace. Sigh. I love including large 6×8 photos of things and even putting the journaling RIGHT onto the photograph. I do need to still stamp on that index tab though. Ha!
Another thing I love to include is kid’s art. I already have a few pieces that I simply tuck into an 8.5×11 page protector OR I snap photo of it and include it in one of the DESIGN A page protectors. If I can keep it though, I do. I just love having the actual art piece in my albums. Either way – save some of them, at least! They are the literal sweetest. Sigh.
A little tip for you – I am a BIG fan of mini post-it notes. I use them a lot in my project life and even mini albums that I work on. I use them as little place fillers so that I know what I need to include and what areas of my album I need to finish. I usually just put “Filler card” or “journaling” on them and can reuse them as I go along. It’s just something about having them as I flip through the pages and knowing where I need to add something to or finish working on something at. Post-it notes are my friend. Ha!
Well, there is a peek into my current Project Life album for this year and just some things I’m including in it so far. If you have any questions about any of it, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment on this post or reach out via email! I’m happy to chat about it! I love this memory keeping process.
Remember, you can make this whatever you’d like and do what works for YOU. If you do that, you’ll always have joy in your memory keeping.
