For my birthday last month my husband got me this awesome, happy blue Royal typewriter. Friends, I was SO excited! I have been wanting a typewriter for awhile now. It’s been a bit of a learning curve to learn it and get used to it, but I’ve been using it for a good month now and just love it. It’s a new favorite documenting tool in my studio. Do you have a typewriter? I used to have an antique typewriter that I unfortunately got rid of and regret it so much. Sigh.

In my devotional notebook, I’ve been using my typewriter and actually typing on things like brown paper bags and even deli paper and really loving it. It’s turning out so cool and I love the depth and texture it is giving my book. I feel like with this book I am able to experiment a bit more and just pour all of my creativity out, where as in my Project Life and other documenting projects, I keep them pretty clean and simple. It’s been such a cool mix for me. Something about digging into God’s Word just makes me feel so free and at peace creativity. It’s wonderful.

Before I had a typewriter I would just print out text from my computer using one of my favorite typewriting fonts, Remington Noise. It’s a great, free font to use if you don’t have a typewriter, but want that typewriter look. There’s really nothing like hearing the sounds of a typewriter though. Ahhh, taking me back to high school when I had typing class! Ha!
It’s been a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to many more opportunities to bust it out, type away and include it in my documenting.
