Back in January I shared my new devotional notebook and what it was looking like and how it was started, etc. About a month in a half ago, I actually decided to scrap that book (it was just too small, the pages were too thin and it was becoming a hot mess, LOL). So I did some searching around to find THE PERFECT book to use for my devotional notebook. I know that I wanted it to be larger and I definitely wanted it to be perfect to do all sort of mixed media in it – so the weight and quality of the paper was important, too.
I found THIS book on Amazon and it looked perfect. The price wasn’t bad at all and so I ordered it really hoping it was the one and guess what? IT WAS!!! I am SO happy with this book – the size, the page quality, the price – all of it. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a mixed media book to do some Bible journaling/devotional creating in. It’s been the best outlet for my devotional reading and creativity. It’s been such a joy to work in. I’m super happy with it.
So what exactly am I putting in this notebook? Well, as you know, I am really enjoying the beautiful monthly devotionals that Illustrated Faith puts out. I started purchasing them and going through them during the beginning of the pandemic and I can’t tell you how wonderful they’ve been. Not only are they beautiful, but it’s been a wonderful addition to my regular Bible reading. It’s just another way to not only dig into God’s Word, but also be creative. It’s just what I’ve been needing and wanting in this season of my life.
So some pages in this notebook are pages that I’ve done that have been inspired by a particular devotional and other pages are just prayers, feelings, art and other misc. thoughts that I’ve put down on paper.
I just finished up April’s devotional, Good Soil, and just loved it so much. The message and reminder was just what I was needing – I always find that God meets me RIGHT where I need Him to every time no matter what. I love that about Him.
Here are a few more pages in my devotional notebook for you to take a peek at:
I also have been working on putting together a really fun mini album using this month’s new devotional from Illustrated Faith called, Heart Check. You can go to Shanna’s Instagram and check out all of her reels that she’s been doing sharing how to create this really cute & fun mixed media album. I have loved working on it this week and can’t wait to keep adding to it.
I’ll be sure to share once it’s all done – be sure you’re following me over on Instagram, friends! You can find me HERE.
Here’s to being creative and getting into God’s Word, friends!! XO!
