Worship. What does it mean to you?
How do you worship God in your everyday life, friend?
I had the beautiful opportunity to pour my heart into a devotional that God put on my heart to write for Illustrated Faith that was released in January 2023. It’s called, “Worthy of Worship” and it’s a devotional to inspire you to use your life in all of the ways to worship God who is absolutely worthy of worship! In John 4:24 it says, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. So let’s beak that down just a bit to see what it means to worship God in”spirit and in truth.”
To worship God in spirit means to come with an open heart toward God with love and intention. It’s the Holy Spirit within us guiding us and awakening us to marvel at His power, splendor, and love. It’s wholehearted admiration from within us for God. To worship in truth is a reminder that worship is not meant to be formed by what feels good, but by the light of what is true. Worship to God should be founded in doctrine and not just done with your lips, but with your heart (Matthew 15:7-9). Worshiping in truth is founded in God’s Truth, which is His Word.
Walk through this devotional to be reminded of seven beautiful ways that you can worship God in your every day life. It’s full of wonderful scripture, has a great song playlist and you can get creative as you dig deeper into God’s Word.

“In your life, you will, not you might, have trials and storms that come and shake you, friend. You actually have probably already weathered a few, or maybe you’re even going through some right now as you read the words upon this page. I know life can be hard, and sometimes devastating. Those storms come and they make you feel out of control, heartbroken, lost, hopeless, scared, and alone, but the good news is that the God of miracles is there in the midst of it all. He will intervene and carry you through.
That’s what this devotional is all about: when God shows up and turns everything around. It’s about the power of two words: “but God” and how they are woven all throughout the Bible to show us who has the final say in it all. Those two words point to the hope that continues to shine bright within the deepest, darkest parts of our lives, even when we think there is no hope left. I love it when I come across those two words because it means God is about to do something great; something only He can do. Good news always follows, “but God.”
I’m so thankful and excited to spend the next month with you, walking through some of these unforgettable God moments in the Bible and reflecting on the “but God” moments that we’ve experienced in our own lives.”
